Tips for gags:
- In BDSM, gags have a functional purpose of preventing the wearer from speaking (not to be confused with preventing any noise, which they typically do not do). Aside from this though, they can also add dramatically to the dominant and submissive’s respective head-spaces. For many people, gags also add a beautiful aesthetic element which complements all forms of bondage.
- Gags come in a range of sizes, generally from about 1.25 inches (small) to 2 inches in diameter. When buying, it’s best to err on the small side. A smaller gag will still achieve it’s main purpose, whereas a gag that’s too big will be very uncomfortable for the wearer and they probably won’t be able to wear it too long
- With some effort, someone wearing a gag can normally still make vocal sounds (of a sort). This can be a fun part of a scene – making a submissive “gag-talk” in response to questions that you ask them (if you / they are into a little humiliation play 🙂
- Most gags tend to cause a build up of drool in the mouth. You might get a lot coming out when you take it out, or in some cases coming out the mouth while being worn. Many people in BDSM find this extremely sexy. Newer submissives wearing a gag can become quite self-conscious of drooling though – so be sure to reassure them about how hot it is so it doesn’t ruin their headspace.
- It can be dangerous to leave a person unattended while they are wearing a gag, especially if they are otherwise in bondage.
