This week in kink

The Los Angeles Fetish Film Festival was on this weekend, with Stockroom and Bar Sinister jointly hosting the event. This was the fifth occurrence of this annual event, and from all accounts it is only getting bigger and better. Entrants submit short films of 3 – 12 minutes in length. While they must relate to fetish in some way, they are required to be artistic in nature and not explicitly pornographic.

Welcome back, kinky friends!

On Saturday night I had the pleasure of attending Mistress Cyan’s Thanksgiving Slave Auction at Sanctuary. Believe it or not, this was the first time I had been to a slave auction event so it was a fun, new experience for me. anniebear was of course put up for sale in the auction, and fetched a princely sum after being hotly contested by several bidders (all proceeds to charity).

anniebear’s new owners for the evening were a lovely married couple who were relatively new to the public scene, and I enjoyed watching them learn to dominate her in various ways. A big thanks to Lady Jessica (one of Sanctuary’s resident DM’s) for stepping in to help instruct the the lucky winners on some impact and sensual play.

Sunday brought more kinky play – this time a scene with my friend belle at my place. Cage time, interrogation and some slutification (is that one “t” or two, I never know) play made for a fun evening all around. Slutification borrows from the classic Fem-dom playbook of sissification, but with a female sub. I will definitely write some more detailed scene ideas for that in a future edition.

I hope you had a wonderful Halloween and got into some freaky, kinky costumes. It sure is a fun holiday because it’s the one day of the year most of our vanilla friends feel like they can let their hair down and embrace their slutty side… at least in terms of their attire, anyway.

Kink Weekly is still on the road this week, and pleased to bring you another edition from “out of the office”.

It’s been a big week of kink!

On Saturday night we had the pleasure of attending the inaugural “1010” play party at The Decameron Los Angeles. It was a great crowd, with a lot of beautiful Mistresses and Fem-doms.

Last week was a busy one getting the site off the ground. A huge thanks to my fellow contributors anniebear, Baadmaster, Phi and Jenn for their efforts to get it launched.

We had over 1,000 visitors to the site last week, which is fantastic for our first week. Thank you all for the wonderful feedback and messages of support. And of course to Jenn’s dad who posted the very first comment on the site. I caught up with Jenn at a play party on Friday evening and we talked about how great it is that her family are so supportive of her career and lifestyle.

Our kinky San Francisco friends held the annual Folsom Street Fair this weekend, celebrating leather and fetish culture. I wasn’t able to make it up there, but about 400,000 other people did and I’m sure it was a blast.

We’ve been working hard to create a place with interesting, relevant content for people interested in bondage, power exchange, dominance and submission, and sadomasochism. Whether you identify as Dominant, submissive, switch, or one of the myriad of other fun BDSM roles, I hope you’ll find something interesting here.

Like many kinky people, I’ve been kinky my whole life. It was a gradual process of realization about what that actually meant, and much of my play was in private with partners – with varying degrees of success!

Eventually, I discovered the BDSM community and over the course of various classes, munches, and play parties I have met many wonderful fellow kinky people. I continue to be blown away by how friendly, welcoming, diverse, and interesting people in the scene can be. I still remember how unbelievably liberating and validating it first felt to be able to have open conversations about my interests and desires with people who just got me. And now I consider many of those kinky folks good friends.

I started Kink Weekly with a few fellow BDSM enthusiasts. Our aim is to provide a place that you can check regularly to access new articles, photography, and short stories that you’ll love. And when BDSM touches mainstream media –either in a positive or negative way – as it does from time to time, that we can be there to help provide an informed, measured voice in response.

Most of all, I hope that we can help continue to bring BDSM out from the shadows and promote it as the fun, healthy, and incredibly fulfilling activity and lifestyle that it can be.
