First of all, thanks for the prominent display for my new collaborative illustrated novel: “Palace of Pleasure and Pain.” Gina Harper and I both appreciate your attention to our work.
And I’d like to add compliments for your recommendation of “Professor Marston and the Wonder Women,” a truly lovely film in all respects and absolutely worth tracking down and viewing. It does indeed offer insights into the creation of our favorite comic book photo-kink icon and how she came to be. It’s also eye-opening regarding the kind of repression BDSM enthusiasts faced in Prof. Marston’s era and gives us cause to celebrate the relative freedom we currently enjoy. And lastly, it’s also a somewhat melancholy meditation on the price paid to secure the degree of acceptance we now enjoy by the pioneers who first brought BDSM out into the light. The battle for public understanding is far from over and the gains we’ve made are by no means secure. Wonderful performances and sharp scripting bring the saga of Wonder Woman and her creators to life and leave viewers with a new perspective on how we got to where we are now and how much farther we still have to go.
